HOW TO USE

Henna indigo mix combination can be applied to hair in a one-step process (in correct proportions shown below) to obtain light brown, medium brown or dark brown, and in a two-step process to obtain black or jet black hair or beard (henna applied first, wash out, indigo applied second)

Indigo is often known as black henna because it produces a natural blue dye but when mixed with orange-red henna results in a black hair dye. Never use indigo alone to colour grey/white hair unless the resulting colour wanted is blue-green as this is the natural colour of indigo.

Together henna and indigo can produce various shades of brown hair colour, auburn, mahogany, chestnut, chocolate brown, ash brown.

Hair Colour Proportions

Light Brown (70% henna to 30% indigo)

Medium Brown (equal amount)

Dark Brown (70% indigo to 30% henna)

How much henna to use for hair length? (Please note this is approximate and is dependent on length and thickness of hair i.e. short cropped hair or beard can get away with using less than 50g).

With indigo powder henna can produce any shade of brown hair and black hair colour and is the alternative beard dye for men with sensitive skin and itchy beard as henna powder will help to relieve itchiness and dry scalp with frequent use. Made from dried henna leaves of the henna plant, Lawsonia Inermis, our henna powder is suitable to all hair types, Asian, European, African-Caribbean (including dreadlocks). There is no limit to henna’s dyeing power. Grounded and triple-sifted into fine powder our henna mix easily into a smooth henna paste making it an easy hair dye to wash out of hair and ideal for henna cones paste.

Henna naturally soften and relax hair whilst indigo provides thickness and volume. Always use amla powder with indigo powder for softness, conditioning and easy application, especially for first time use. Amla powder can also be used with henna to tone down the red in henna for a softer red brown colour. However, all the hair powders in the range can be mixed in with henna but only amla with indigo as it is a much weaker hair dye.
